Croatia is fast becoming the must-visit destination in Europe. It’s a country rich in natural beauty and nowhere is that more evident than the spectacular islands on the Dalmatian Coast. This beautiful coastline offers picturesque anchorages, fascinating history and gorgeous sailing conditions. You will sample an array of local cuisine in the many quality restaurants en route or delicious meals freshly prepared by your skipper and crew on board our 50-foot sailboat. End your trip visiting the ancient UNESCO World Heritage city of Dubrovnik. Add on an optional extension to visit beautiful neighbouring country Montenegro where we will raft the Tara River and explore Kotor old town.
Let us share this exciting destination with you.
Arrive into Split where your skipper will meet you and accompany you to your hotel in the picturesque old town of Trogir. We meet for a meal in one of the many excellent restaurants where your skipper will give you a run down on the next few days of your trip.
Included: Dinner
After breakfast, we head to the marina where you’ll board your yacht and the skipper will give you a full safety briefing. After a short sail, we reach the fantastic bay of Krknjaši on Drvenik Veli island. Have a swim and enjoy lunch in the azure waters. The afternoon sees us sail the short distance to Solta where we anchor in a picture perfect bay before enjoying local delicacies at a nearby restaurant.
All meals included
Take a dive off the yacht for a wake up swim while the skipper prepares breakfast and freshly brewed coffee. Our planned destination for tonight is Starigrad, on the island of Hvar. Situated in a sheltered harbour, we moor up and give you time to explore this historic town, one of Croatia’s oldest dating back to 385 BC. At night we enjoy one of the many seaside restaurants on offer.
All meals included
After a relaxed start to the day, we sail towards Otok Scedro, a remote island. Here if we are lucky, the local wine and olive oil producer will pop over for an on board tasting. Alternatively, have a swim or take the dinghy into shore for a short hike while your meal is prepared.
All meals included
Our hosts deliver freshly baked croissants and pastries direct to the yacht! Today our destination is the fascinating island of Vis, which until 1989 was entirely closed to tourism as it served as a Yugoslav military base. This ancient city delights history lovers, while fans of Mamma Mia may recognise it as one of the movie locations. You can watch the film in an outdoor theatre most evenings. Tuck into delicious local seafood or lamb but leave room for delicious ice cream from a hugely popular gelato shop.

We find most of our clients have in their possession already what is needed for a sailing trip. We have broken down here the items into what you’ll need on the yacht, on the river and in camp. An equipment list of what you will require for your adventure will be sent to you prior to your departure.
Download equipment fileThe trip was what was as advertised and much more. The scenery was beautiful, the ports were charming, food and wine abundant on and off the boat. We had to make changes to our itinerary due to weather, Hamish and his first mate knew where to go and delivered a great alternative with safety always considered.
With Hamish’s and his first mate’s extensive sailing skills they made the sailing a real experience taking advantage of the wind available. It got pretty sporty at times!!
This was our third trip with Water by Nature, Rafting Nepal, and The Zambezi, both of which were amazing and I highly recommend to do. We ended our trip in Dubrovnik, stayed in a small boutique hotel in old town and had just the right amount of time to explore and tour the city, a great way to end the adventure.
We just got back and are already working on booking our next adventure with Water by Nature next year.
What a unique and wonderful adventure! I had never been sailing, and I was a convert. Hamish and his excellent first mate, Josh, catered to our every need. The champagne sailing was very peaceful, and our stays in the wonderful Croatian towns were interesting. Montenegro was an exceptional addition to this already amazing trip. I want to go back!
Our trip to Croatia and Montenegro exceeded all my high expectations. Hamish as usual had all the details covered so that we could relax and enjoy the beautiful sea, the delightful Island ports and all the fun onboard. We sailed each morning, stopped in a beautiful cove for swimming and luch and then sailed on to our mooring for the night. The food was amazing whether at small secluded restaurants just for the yachts, fine dining restaurants in the towns or a big grill on the boat.
I highly recommend the extension to Montenegro to see the fjords and to enjoy the wonderful rafting. Hamish had booked the best table on the very edge at the cliff above the city for sunset drinks at the end of our trip. What a great finale to the perfect trip packed with memories, experiences and new friends!
