Croatia is fast becoming the must-visit destination in Europe. It’s a country rich in natural beauty and nowhere is that more evident than the spectacular islands on the Dalmatian Coast. This beautiful coastline offers picturesque anchorages, fascinating history and gorgeous sailing conditions. You will sample an array of local cuisine in the many quality restaurants en route or delicious meals freshly prepared by your skipper and crew on board our 50-foot sailboat. End your trip visiting the ancient UNESCO World Heritage city of Dubrovnik. Add on an optional extension to visit beautiful neighbouring country Montenegro where we will raft the Tara River and explore Kotor old town.
Let us share this exciting destination with you.
Arrive into Split where your skipper will meet you and accompany you to your hotel in the picturesque old town of Trogir. We meet for a meal in one of the many excellent restaurants where your skipper will give you a run down on the next few days of your trip.
Included: Dinner
After breakfast, we head to the marina where you’ll board your yacht and the skipper will give you a full safety briefing. After a short sail, we reach the fantastic bay of Krknjaši on Drvenik Veli island. Have a swim and enjoy lunch in the azure waters. The afternoon sees us sail the short distance to Solta where we anchor in a picture perfect bay before enjoying local delicacies at a nearby restaurant.
All meals included
Take a dive off the yacht for a wake up swim while the skipper prepares breakfast and freshly brewed coffee. Our planned destination for tonight is Starigrad, on the island of Hvar. Situated in a sheltered harbour, we moor up and give you time to explore this historic town, one of Croatia’s oldest dating back to 385 BC. At night we enjoy one of the many seaside restaurants on offer.
All meals included
After a relaxed start to the day, we sail towards Otok Scedro, a remote island. Here if we are lucky, the local wine and olive oil producer will pop over for an on board tasting. Alternatively, have a swim or take the dinghy into shore for a short hike while your meal is prepared.
All meals included
Our hosts deliver freshly baked croissants and pastries direct to the yacht! Today our destination is the fascinating island of Vis, which until 1989 was entirely closed to tourism as it served as a Yugoslav military base. This ancient city delights history lovers, while fans of Mamma Mia may recognise it as one of the movie locations. You can watch the film in an outdoor theatre most evenings. Tuck into delicious local seafood or lamb but leave room for delicious ice cream from a hugely popular gelato shop.

The itinerary includes stunning, quaint seaports; amazing outdoor seaside restaurants; charming inns; comfortable berths in the sailboat (and we each had our own private head…) I’ll never forget swimming off the boat, exploring ancient towns, rafting in Montenegro, and laughing until my sides hurt. This was truly an experience to treasure.
Sailing in Croatia was beyond my wildest dreams. If you like Champagne sailing along the rugged coast in turquoise waters this trip is for you! Overnights in some remote moorings which allowed me to sleep on deck with a million stars above me! Hamish and his crew were especially accommodating to my vegetarian diet, both on land and on the boat. I loved exploring the towns…particularly Dubrovnik where we also did a bit of sea kayaking . But wait! On to Montenegro for a rafting trip on crystal clear waters. A drive to the top of one of the Carpathian Mountains there for drinks and appetizers was a sure highlight. One of the best trips I’ve ever experienced! Leave the dishes in the sink and go !
Another WBN trip in the books and spending time on a sailboat in Croatia along the Adriatic coast followed by white water rafting in Montenegro did not disappoint.
By my count this is my 5th trip and am currently booked for an adventure in PNG next year.
Why do I continue to travel with WBN? It’s because they truly deliver a unique experience each and every time.
Different from rafting the Zambezi, Tamur or Cherry Creek, sailing with a small group provides adrenaline rushes in other ways.
Maybe it’s taking the wheel and catching the wind or out on a paddle board or jumping into crystal clear azure waters… there’s always something special to look forward to.
A few highlights from my recent trip were the fabulous restaurants in tiny coves away from the crowds, having fresh pastries delivered to our boat early in the morning, deciding to stop along the way for an afternoon swim, discovering the old city of Dubrovnik and finally rafting the Tara River in Montenegro.
To sum it all up…Water By Nature delivers a holiday in which one’s memories last a lifetime.
